I was honored to be the photographer for two of my best friends, Clay and Romi, at their incredible weekend wedding. They decided on a small and intimate Palm Springs wedding at Villa Leche. This stunning venue is a sprawling mid-century-meets-desert-adobe-style compound, complete with a pool, courtyard, cactus garden, and beautiful ceremony space. I like to describe my photography style as documentary with a hint of editorial, and film-inspired. I shot both digital and film at the wedding, capturing the day’s essence in various formats.

An Intentional Celebration Among Friends

Thirty of Clay and Romi’s best friends and family members donned colorful cocktail attire, laughing, crying, and dancing with them under the pink and purple desert sky, each with an Aperol Spritz (or two) in hand. The festivities began with a welcome dinner at La Quinta Resort the night before, setting the stage for a weekend filled with love and joy.

Palm Springs Wedding Morning at Villa Leche

On the wedding morning, Clay and Romi enjoyed a laid-back breakfast with friends before getting ready at the villa. Their heartfelt first look and private vows took place in the stunning cactus garden, setting a perfect tone for the day ahead. They officially tied the knot on top of a hill, surrounded by majestic mountains under a bluebird sky.

A Beautifully Intimate Ceremony in the Desert

The intimate wedding ceremony took place in a beautiful space, with an arch of floating flowers set against the stunning desert landscape. Their Bernese Mountain dog, Maui, made a sweet entrance down the aisle before Romi—yet somehow didn’t steal the show! The brightly dressed guests, holding white umbrellas, added to the beauty of the scene. As both a friend and their film wedding photographer, I loved capturing every moment. One of their best friends, Ben, officiated, and soon after, they were pronounced husband and wife!

A Night to Remember

After the ceremony, the celebration moved poolside with a lively Aperol Spritz-themed cocktail hour. Guests mingled, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere as laughter filled the courtyard. As the sun set, everyone gathered for dinner beneath a twinkling waterfall of string lights, where friends shared heartfelt toasts to celebrate the start of Clay and Romi’s marriage. The night continued with plenty of dancing and shenanigans, ending with a spontaneous jump in the pool to cap off the perfect day. The following morning, they relaxed by the pool with their best friends, reminiscing about the beautiful moments of the weekend.

A Collection of Digital and Film Photos from a Palm Springs Wedding

I’m excited to share a beautiful collection of digital and film photos from Clay and Romi’s unforgettable wedding weekend! The film selection includes a mix of 35mm and 120mm film, showcasing the vivid colors and heartfelt moments from their intimate Palm Springs wedding. I highly recommend Villa Leche for a Palm Springs wedding venue; it truly created a special atmosphere for a weekend filled with love and laughter among friends and family.

If you can envision your own special day celebrated like this, I would love to help capture those moments. Contact me through my website—I’d be honored to be your Palm Springs wedding photographer!
